I think the border should be another tour of duty for active duty military.. After all, it is a national security issue!
From everything I've seen; they just want us to be "targets" instead...
But, then again,,, what do I know... I'm just a Bitter Clinger...

You should remind spouses that they shouldn't just come in and purchase a handgun for their spouse (especially if she's a much smaller gal).....firearms are very personal, and if they don't fit in our hands (i.e. women) then we won't want to use them, we'll be "afraid" of them, etc.....

Women should ALWAYS come in with their spouse (if the spouse is the one purchasing it) to make sure it is a gun she will 1) want, 2) like the feel of it in her hand, 3) use!

Afterall, a man wouldn't think of walking into a lingerie store and purchasing a bra/panty set without knowing what she likes and what size she is....cuz' trust me, if my hubby came home with a XXXL and I'm size XL....I'd be pretty upset! :) just a thought, from a woman's perspective!

I would disagree...but not by as much as you would normally think. McCain has two things going for him though - he's fought for this country and he's not a racist, socialist liberal.

I Love it. I don't care who said it because it's all true. Andy Rooney is a clever man. Too bad more people in our government don't think like him. Our country will soon be dominated and ruled by misfits becasue we are giving it to them to be politicaly correct and considerate of their civil rights. Civil rights are for civil people. I'm tired of the way we cater to minorities and ethnic groups. Pretty soon we will be the minority and trust me, they won't be worrying about us when we are the minority (soon)! I grew up in Atlanta, Ga and I loved it. North georgia is so pretty and Atlanta was great, but it was ruined around 2000, and if you go there, you will know what I mean. It's not Atlanta anymore, it be du ATL, yo! There is nothing left to love about it, trust me. Thats the only reason I moved to Florida.

I feel ashamed for blindly believing the legitimacy of this article. I thought that since the source was a respected arms wholesaler, it must be legitimate. No matter. They are good thoughts. And it does seem like an article Andy Rooney could have written. I'm going to leave the post alone and let the points in the article be read, regardless who wrote them originally. Some say George Carlin, some say Ted Nugent. It does not matter. They are still true and practical. Thanks for pointing out the error, though.

We are spreading "democracy" because it is more politically correct to say than "safeguarding our imperial oil reserves."

You've made a mistake about corporatism, however. It is nothing like Fascism. Corporatism is based on the exploitation of all for profit. Fascism is national socialism, the very antithesis of corporatism. I would agree that their effects on the individual are similar, but their mechanisms of control are vastly different. That being said, the democrats are, by far, the more fascist party in our own political system. Republican beliefs are much more in line with corporatism. Remember, the political ideologies are economic systems more than systems of personal values. Republicans want free commerce, less regulation, more personal freedom to pursue profits. Democrats want more regulation, less freedom, and limits on profits for social reasons. Unfortunately, economic systems cannot allow equality for all, otherwise there is no impetus to innovate - just look at the USSR of old. Thus, the democrat's system is flawed at its root, and all of its doctrine is fruit of its own poisonous tree. The Republicans are also flawed in that the unrestricted exploitation of resources is also not economically feasible. There has to be a middle ground - one that allows unrestricted personal freedom, economic and technological innovation, responsible resource management, and judicious use of social programs (hand up, not hand out). Where does that balance lie?

You mention dual citizenship - where would you go? Despite our problems this is still the most free country on the planet. Anywhere else, aside from your own private island, is going to be more restrictive on you. Just curious. Thanks for the comment.
