How to Tell The Difference Between Democrats and Republicans

Posted by William Kapeles on December 31, 2007

How do you tell the difference between Democrats, Republicans, and Southern Republicans?

Answer…Pose the following question:

You’re walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges. You are carrying a Glock .40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Democrat’s Answer:

Well, that’s not enough information to answer the question!

Does the man look poor or Oppressed?

Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?

Could we run away?

What does my wife think?

What about the kids?

Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?

What does the law say about this situation?

Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?

Is it possible he’d be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1?

Why is this street so deserted?

We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing!

I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus.

Republican’s Answer:

BANG!

Southern Republican’s Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click….(sounds of reloading).

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click

Daughter: “Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips??

Request for Comments: Wholesale Gun Buying Club Membership

Posted by William Kapeles on December 12, 2007

We are beginning to get a reputation (locally at least) of selling guns on the cheap. We really don’t mind this, as there is very little money in new guns! Consequently, we’re thinking about taking this concept one step further - opening up our wholesale buying power to our customers on a flat fee basis.

Right now, we simply add $20 to the wholesale cost of the firearm and add shipping. So a Glock 17 FXS, which wholesales at Acusport for $444, would cost our customers about $474.00 ($444.00 + $20.00 + $10.00). What we are thinking about doing is opening a “club” on our website that would give members a bi-weekly or monthly newsletter plus wholesale buying privileges for firearms.

Members would pay $49.99 per year and would be able to purchase firearms at $1 over cost, for an unlimited number of firearms. Shipping charges would still apply, as we cannot get around paying UPS or the US Postal Service. So if a person were a member and they wanted to buy a Glock 17, their cost would be $455.00 ($444.00 +$1 + $10.00). This would be a great bargain for people who purchase more than one gun per year.

Another example: A customer wants to buy a Glock 17 FXS and a Remington 870 Express 12 Ga. (base model). These sell for approximately $499 and $309 retail, respectively. Our price on those, with membership, would be $455 and $291 respectively (delivered). That is a savings of $62.00. Throw in the discounts subscribers can receive on ammunition and parts and the $49.99 per year fee seems small!

Members would also get special discounts on ammunition, gunsmithing services, gun parts, etc., that would be sent out via the emailed newsletter.

Some of the obvious drawbacks to this plan are the added premium for using a credit card (2.75%), the wait time of ordering a firearm through the mail, and the cost of transfers for buyers in their locale. If paying in cash, the added cost would only be on average $15.00 per gun (plus no sales tax!).

We are seriously wanting comments on this marketing plan. If this is something that you would like to see done, please let us know. If you think it’s a bad idea, let us know why! We have had great response at our retail store with this idea, and believe we can seriously increase our firearms volume (and buying power) by going national.

To preview the newsletters when we have them written, subscribe here. This is the same one members will receive, but the pricing is not available until you have a purchased membership. You can cancel at anytime. The first newsletter is slated for 12/27/2007. Thanks!
