California Lead Free Ammo! Get it here! Get it now!

Posted by William Kapeles on November 18, 2007

My brother just informed me that the Republik of Kalifornia has decreed that its subjects are no longer allowed to own, use, manufacture, or otherwise endanger their fellow subjects and their wildlife with lead ammunition. The ban actually stipulates that the subjects are only forbidden from hunting with it, and only in the range of the Kalifornia Kondor. (Which makes total sense as Kondors are known for a voracious lead appetite).

If you happen to be one of the oppressed, we are pleased to offer a great “lead free” (i.e.: Kalifornia safe) .223 bullet and/or loaded cartridges. It is a frangible copper, 70 grain bullet that is perfect for varmints (or perfect for destroying the endangered, indigenous wildlife of the Republik). If you need them , click here and send us an inquiry for price and availablility.

We extend our deepest condolences to the subjects of Kalifornia for this most recent insult on your rights. If you live in Kalifornia and wish to purchase anything from our shop, including this ammunition, we will extend special discounts to you. Thanks!

A True Story About Iwo Jima

Posted by William Kapeles on November 12, 2007

I received this from my wife on email the other day.  I forwarded it to a few friends, but that just was not enough exposure for this story.  Please feel free to copy this and send it to everyone you know, or just send them a link to this post.  Every American should read this - especially the liberal ones.

Six Boys and Thirteen Hands

Each year I am hired to go to Washington, DC, with the 8th grade class from Clinton, WI, where I grew up, to videotape their trip.  I greatly enjoy visiting our nation’s capital, and each year I take some special memories back with me.  This fall’s trip was especially memorable.

On the last night of our trip we stopped at the Iwo Jima memorial.  This memorial is the largest bronze statue in the world and depicts one of the most famous photographs in history - that of the six brave soldiers raising the American Flag at the top of a rocky hill on the island of Iwo Jima, Japan, during WW II.

Over one hundred students and chaperones piled off the buses and headed for the memorial.  I noticed a solitary figure at the base of the statue, and as I got closer he asked, “Where are you guys from?”

I told him we were from Wisconsin.  “Hey!  I’m a Cheese Head, too.  Come gather round Cheese Heads and I’ll tell you a story.” he said.

(James Bradley just happened to be in Washington, DC, to speak at the memorial the following day.  He was there that night to say good night to his dad, who had passed away.  He was just about to leave when he saw the buses pull up.  I videotaped him as he spoke to us and received his permission to share what he said from my videotape.  It is one thing to tour the incredible monuments filled with history in Washington, DC, but it is quite another to get the kind of insight we received that night.)

When all had gathered around, he reverently began to speak.  Here are his words from that night:

“My name is James Bradley, and I’m from Antigo, WI.  My dad is on that statue and I just wrote a book called ‘Flags of Our Fathers’ which is #5 on the New York Times Best Seller List right now.  It is the story of the six boys you see behind me.

Six boys raised the flag.  The first guy putting the pole in the ground is Harlan Block.  Harlan was an all-state football player.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps. with all the senior members of his football team.  They were off to play another type of game.  A game called ‘war.’  But it didn’t turn out to be a game.  Harlan, at the age of 21, died with his intestines in his hands.  I don’t say that to gross you out, I say that because there are people who stand in front of this statue and talk about the glory of war.  You guys need to know that most of the boys in Iwo Jima were 17, 18, and 19 years-old - and it was so hard that the ones who did make it home would never talk to their families about it.

You see this next guy?  That’s Rene Gagnon from New Hampshire.  If you took Rene’s helmet off at the moment this photo was taken and looked in the webbing of that helmet, you would find a photograph - a photograph of his girlfriend.  Rene put that there for protection because he was scared.  He was 18 years-old.  It was just boys who won the battle of Iwo Jima.  Boys.  Not old men.

The next guy here, the third guy in this tableau, was Sgt. Mike Strank.  Mike is my hero.  He was the hero of all these guys.  They called him the ‘old man’ because he was so old.  He was already 24.  When Mike would motivate his boys in training camp, he didn’t say ‘Let’s go kill some Japanese,’ or ‘Let’s go die for our country.’  He knew he was talking to little boys.  Instead he would say ‘You do what I say and I’ll get you home to your mothers.’

The last guy on this side of the statue is Ira Hayes, a Pima Indian from Arizona.  Ira Hayes was one who walked off Iwo Jima.  He went into the White House with my dad.   President Truman told him ‘You’re a hero.’  He told reporters ‘How can I feel like a hero when 250 of my buddies hit the island with me and only 27 of us walked off alive?’  So you take your class at school, 250 of you spending a year together having fun, doing everything together.  Then all 250 hit the beach together and only 27 of your classmates  walk off alive.   That was Ira Hayes.  He had images of horror in his mind.  Ira Hayes carried the pain home with him and eventually died, dead drunk, facedown at the age of 32, 10 years after this picture was taken.

The next guy, going around the statue, was Franklin Sously, from Hilltop, KY.  A fun-lovin’ hillbilly boy.  His best friend, who is now 70, told me ‘Yeah, you know, we took two cows up on the porch of Hilltop General Store.  Then we strung wire across the stairs so the cows couldn’t get down.  Then we fed them Epsom salts.  Those cows crapped all night.’  Yes, he was a fun-lovin’ hillbilly boy.  Franklin died on Iwo Jima at the age of 19.  When the telegram came to tell his mother that he was dead,  it came to the Hilltop General Store.  A barefoot boy ran that telegram up to his mother’s farm.  The neighbors could hear her scream all night long and into the morning.  Those neighbors lived a quarter of a mile away.

The next guy, as we continue to go around the statue, is my dad, John Bradley, from Antigo, WI, where I was raised.  My dad lived until 1994, but he would never give interviews.  When Walter Cronkite’s producers or the New York Times would call, we were trained as little kids to say ‘No, I’m sorry, sir.  My dad’s not here.  He’s in Canada fishing.  No, there is no phone there.  No, I do not know when he will be back.’  My dad never fished or even went to Canada.  Usually he was sitting there right at the kitchen table eating his Campbell’s soup.  But we had to tell the press that he was out fishing.  He didn’t want to talk to the press.

You see, like Ira Hayes, my dad didn’t see himself as a hero.  Everyone thinks these guys are heroes because they’re in a photo and on a monument.  My dad knew better.  He was a medic.  John Bradley from Wisconsin was a care giver.  In Iwo Jima, he probably held more than 200 boys as they died.  And when boys died in Iwo Jima, they writhed and screamed, without any medication or help with the pain.

When I was a little boy, my third grade teacher told me my dad was a hero.  When I went home and told my dad that, he looked at me and said, ‘I want you always to remember that the heroes of Iwo Jima are the guys who did not come back.  DID NOT COME BACK.’

So that’s the story about six nice young boys.  Three died on Iwo Jima, and three came back as national heroes.  Overall, 7,000 boys died on Iwo Jima in the worst battle in the history of the Marine Corps.  My voice is giving out, so I will end here.  Thank you for your time.”

Suddenly, the monument was not just a big old piece of metal with a flag sticking out of the top.  It came to life before our eyes with the heartfelt words of a son who did indeed have a father who was a hero.  Maybe not a hero for the reasons most people would believe, but a hero nonetheless.

We need to remember that God created this vast and glorious world for us to live in freely, but also at great sacrifice.

Let us never forget, from the Revolutionary War to the current war on terrorism, and all the wars in between, that sacrifice was made for our freedom.

Remember to pray praises for this great country of ours’ and also pray for those still in murderous unrest around the world.

Stop and thank God for being alive and for being free at someone else’s sacrifice.

God bless you, and God bless America.

Note:  One thing I learned while on my tour with my 8th grade students in DC that is not mentioned here is that if you look at the statue very closely and count the number of ‘hands’ raising the flag, there are 13.  When the man who made the statue was asked why there were 13, he simply said that the 13th hand was the hand of God.

A Christmas Stamp for Muslims?

Posted by William Kapeles on November 12, 2007

This just in via email from one of my friends:

stamp-muslim.jpg

The United States Postal Service has released an Islam themed postage stamp.  What are they thinking?

These people do not believe in Christ, celebrate Christmas, or believe that anyone else has the right to do so, yet the US government is dedicating a stamp to commemorate Islam?

Remember the Muslim bombing of Pan Am flight 103?

Remember the Muslim bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993?

Remember the Muslim bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon?

Remember the Muslim bombing of the military barracks in Saudi Arabia?

Remember the Muslim bombings of the US Embassies in Africa?

Remember the Muslim attack on the USS Cole?

Remember the Muslim attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11?

What is our country coming to that we must tolerate this “appeasement of our enemies” that exists in every facet of our lives?  This reminds me of an anti-war poster I saw from the sixties.  I’ll re-write it here to suit our purposes:

Recognizing Islam at Christmas (especially in America) is like screwing to support chastity.

This would never happen in reverse anywhere else in the world.  No other nation feels so insecure in its world position that its government gives aid and comfort to its enemies.  This is a shameful  use of tax dollars.  Let your elected officials know how this makes you feel so we can get this new stamp removed from the USPS’s offerings.

Historical Facts About Gun Control

Posted by William Kapeles on November 12, 2007

In 1911, Turkey established gun control.  Between 1915 and 1917 approximately 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control.  From 1929 to 1953 about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up by the government and exterminated.

In 1935 China established gun control.  From 1948 to 1952 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1938 Germany established gun control.  From 1939 to 1945 approximately 13 million Jews and other political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1956, Cambodia established gun control.  From 1975 to 1977 1 million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1964, Guatemala established gun control.  From 1964 to 1981 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1970, Uganda established gun control.  From 1971 to 1979 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

The total number of victims slaughtered during the 20th century because of gun control:  52 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners  in Australia  were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program which cost Australian taxpayers an estimated $500 million dollars.  The first year results are now available for review:

1.  Australia-wide, homicides have increased 3.2%.  In the state of Victoria alone homicides  with firearms have                          increased 322%!

2.  Australia-wide, assaults have increased 8.6%.

3.  Australia-wide, armed robberies have increased 44% (yes, 44%.  That’s not a typo.).

Statistics for the previous 25 years have shown a steady decrease in armed robberies.    This has changed drastically upward in the last 12 months as criminals are now guaranteed that their victims will be unarmed.    There has also been a dramatic increase in the number of assaults against the elderly and burglaries of elderly peoples’ homes in the last 12 months.    Australian politicians are at a loss to explain why public safety has decreased so much after such a monumental effort was made to rid Australian society of guns.  While they may be ignorant of the facts, the Australian results and other historical facts listed above speak volumes to me.

Obviously these facts will not appear on American television or radio news as these media are controlled by left-wing nuts.  The media serving as the lapdog to liberalism is not a new phenomenon.  The facts remain immutable, as they have been since our Constitution was adopted:

Guns in the hands of private citizens save lives, property, and safeguard the citizenry from their government.  Gun control laws adversely affect only law abiding citizens.

The next time some idiot wants gun control, kindly remind them of this history lesson.

Cleveland Gun Buy-Back: What a Crock From the Town that Rocks

Posted by William Kapeles on November 12, 2007

The AP reported today that the city of Cleveland, OH, had a “gun buy-back” event on Saturday, November 10, 2007. The first 450 people who turned in a serviceable handgun received a $100 Shell gas card or a $100 Dave’s Foods supermarket gift card. Below is the AP article in its entirety.:

“Cleveland, OH - More than seventy cars lined up outside the Cleveland Convention Center Saturday morning to swap out their guns for gift cards. The Cleveland Gun Buy Back Program was just another effort to try and take back our streets from Cleveland’s monstrous violence.

Cleveland’s Chief of Police, Chief Michael McGrath, announced that Saturday’s gun buy-back effort took 421 guns off the streets of the City of Cleveland.

“The goal of today’s gun buy-back was two-fold,” said Chief McGrath, “to reduce the number of guns on our streets and to increase the safety of our neighborhoods.”

Thanks to the generous donations by our community partners at ArcelorMittal, the Slavic Village Development Corporation and Dave’s Supermarkets, and the commitment to the safety of our community on the part of Partnership For A Safer Cleveland, we have accomplished just that.”

Each weapon taken in Saturday’s buy-back will be traced and entered into a nationwide database. Ultimately the weapons will be melted down with the assistance of Arcelor Mittal here in Cleveland.

Last year, Cleveland had 119 murders. So far this year - there are already 119 on the books.

The City of Cleveland is trying desperately to stop the violence, and 19 Action News was ready to do what they do best - take action!

The first 450 citizens who turn in a gun received a $100 Shell gas card or Dave’s Food Card. Providing the financial support for this event was Arcelor Mittal and The Slavic Village Development Corporation.

In addition, The Partnership for a Safer Cleveland and the NAACP also provided community support for the event. ” (courtesy of the AP)

This is such a crock of crap.  The 421 firearms they confiscated were freely given by people who would never use them in crimes to begin with!  By taking these guns “off the streets” they have effectively made Cleveland a more dangerous place.  The chances of these misguided fools being killed by an attacker is now much greater because they have given up their firearms.

What sickens me most about this “buy-back” is the way in which 421 idiots freely gave their constitutional rights away in exchange for some wampum.  The wampum in this case was $100.  People have died to protect our rights as Americans to own firearms for our personal defense against immediate criminal threats and against the government.  These fools have given that defense up for a few dollars.  My message to them is:  “Please come to Wyoming:  I have moon rocks for sale!”

The other aspect of this liberal publicity stunt that should frighten every American is the emphatic support this action has received from the police.  The police in our society have 3 basic functions.  First, to protect life.  Second, to defend property.  Third, to enforce minor laws and regulations.  Nowhere in any police charter or set of state statutes does it dictate their duty to be “disarmament of the citizenry.”   There are now 421 more subjects in the Cleveland gulag.  The residents of Cleveland should sleep comfortably at night knowing that the jack-booted thugs on the Cleveland gestapo (police department) and the criminals of the city still have their weapons.  God help us when the price for firearms lures even the criminals into turning them in!

It is my fervent hope that anyone who reads this will understand the futility of gun control.  The people who should not have guns will never turn them in at a media circus like this.  They will keep them and continue to perpetrate crimes with them.  Honest, although naive or stupid, citizens will give up their guns to the police because they have been tricked into thinking that all good people should do what the police want and that the police can protect them.  My question is who will protect us from the police?

Never, never give up your guns.  They are all you have.  Remember:  armed people fly their colors, disarmed people wear them.

Hypocracy Alert! SDS Wants to Have it Their Way! (Or Else!)

Posted by William Kapeles on November 9, 2007

I received a report off a blog today the listed the actions of the Students for a Democratic Society recently.  In it is a petition that they want us to sign that would show our support for some youngsters in the Chicago area who decided to cut school and protest the war on private property.

This protest occurred at a public school in the Morton West School District, Berwyn, IL.  The jist of their message is that the Iraq war is bad, peace is good.  On it’s face that is an acceptable statement.  Without getting into the moral right - wrong of the issue, there are a couple problems with their protest.

First, they have a questionable right to protest.  Since they are not of legal age and cannot vote, their other legal rights are basically suspended, too.  One can argue that any human has the right to protest, say what they want, etc.  That may be true on an idealist level, but in practice US citizens have no applicable rights until they reach voting age (or age of majority, legal adulthood, whatever).  Thus, these idiots are getting what they deserve.

Second, a public school is a “private” public venue.  One cannot just walk into a school building and start doing whatever you want.  If you do, you’ll be talking to the police quicker than you can say “public property.”  The only reason these idiots are getting a voice via this stupid petition is because their protest is over the liberal hot button issue of Iraq.  In essence, by leaving class to protest, these kids were trespassing on school property.  Their assembly was therefore illegal.

Third, the group which sponsors this petition is the Students for a Democratic Society.  This is the same liberal group that, like all liberals, wants to pick and choose their (and your) rights and freedoms.  Herein lies the hypocracy.  They want complete free speech, peaceful assembly, etc. (which is a good thing, mind you), yet they want complete gun control, a huge amount of “big brother” government involvement in our lives, and the typical slew of liberal policy that basically states “we know what’s best for you so do it our way or else.”

I hate it when people support idiots who want their constitutionally protected rights to be observed, as in the case of these kids, yet they want to take away the constitutionally protected rights of others.  What a bunch of two-faced communists.

Use your own voice to let people know about this latest addition to the war on America by the liberal left.  Fight for your rights or you’re going to lose them.

*Note:  All websites have intentionally be omitted from this post.  I don’t want to help drive traffic to these jerks.  If you must see the petition and look up the SDS communist party, just hit your search engine.

A Picture Is Worth 1000 Words - What a Schmuck!

Posted by William Kapeles on November 4, 2007

Here’s a photo that will blow you away. A man wanting to be our next commander-in-chief who hails from the liberal capital of the midwest - Chicago. Barack Hussein Obama (yes, that’s his real name), is seen here refusing to say the pledge of allegiance or even render the salute (hand over heart). Is this the kind of man that should be running our great country? There is no excuse for this type of disrespectful behavior.

Even if he has issues with our country’s foreign or domestic policies, he should still say the pledge and salute the flag - the symbol of our country that represents the freedoms he exercises everyday. I would love to be the one to tell him “Barrack, or Barry, or Osama - whatever you call yourself - If you hate it here, get on a plane and emigrate to Iran, or Zimbabwe, or whatever hellhole your ancestors call home. We don’t need your kind here.”

Every American should have issue with this ass. It matters not your political stripe. If you are at peace with what this jerk is doing, you do not deserve to be American.

att1.jpg

Please pass this on to all your friends and family and spread the word about this un-American traitor.
