Gun Sale Announcement! Grand Opening - Cheap Guns!

Posted by William Kapeles on October 25, 2007

Normally we will not be using this forum to advertise our shop.  Because we just opened, however, we felt it would be ok to get the word out to some of our readers about how we will sell firearms.

Basically, all new firearms will be sold at $20 over cost, plus shipping and sales tax (if applicable)*.  For example, assume you want a Glock 17 with fixed sights:

Cost:  $443.19        + $20.00  + shipping (to our store is free, to a customer it is actual charges to their transfer agent)

= $463.19, + (assume) 10.95 S/H = $474.14!

ALL FIREARMS WILL BE SOLD IN THIS MANNER!  EVEN THE REALLY EXPENSIVE ONES!

Let’s look at a Browning Citori XT with an adjustable comb - a VERY expensive firearm:

Cost:  $2020.36 + $20.00 + actual freight charges = $2040.36 + S/H!

You will be very hard pressed to find NEW FIREARMS sold at this low of a price.  To order or inquire, go to www.bpcustomshop.com and click on the “product quote inquiry” button on the left side.  You can also call us at 307-234-6722.

Thank you for allowing us to put our ad on here.  Many of you have asked about buying guns, so we wanted to give our readers what they want!

*All purchases made in Wyoming, either via shipment or at our retail store will be charged the appropriate county sales tax.  Additionally, the formula listed above describe cash transactions.  Credit card, BidPay, or other bankcard transactions will not be eligible for the 2.5% cash discount shown above.  The total will be marked up 2.5% to cover our costs in accepting cards.  Thanks for helping us keep our costs down! All firearm purchases will be completed in accordance with all applicable Federal, state, and local laws.  All firearms must be transferred to a non-FFL licensee in accordance with BATF&E regulations.

A Mission Statement From Which to Learn

Posted by William Kapeles on October 12, 2007

I was doing some firearm site surfing a while ago and I came across something that blew my mind. There is a Jewish activist group called B’nai Elim which has as its self-defined mission the following:

The Mission Statement of B’nai Elim

B’nai Elim is an activist organization dedicated to the protection and defense of the Jewish people.  To that end, there will be no sanctuary for those who threaten or attack Jewish people, Jewish institutions, or Jewish interests.  Never again!

What is so perfect about this is its lack of duplicity. There will be no sanctuary, period. It does not list sweet generalizations of an ideal situation. It simply states “if you mess with Jews, we’ll mess back - regardless of the cost.” You have to admire such an honest definition of purpose.

When you compare the above to the mission statements of our governmental agencies, corporations, or the local PTA, there is a distinct lack of direction evident. Look at this example:

“At Microsoft, our mission and values are to help people and businesses throughout the world realize their full potential.” This was taken from a Microsoft website and labeled as a mission statement. The more direct, B’nai Elim mission statement for Microsoft would be something like “To sell as much software as is possible, and to dominate the global market for the same.” Now that’s direct.

That’s also a great example of what’s wrong with this country. Everyone wants their organization to look like a socially responsible, people-friendly, anti-Capitalistic perfection. Obviously, that is not even attainable. The way we should see all aspects of our country is through the “reality filter.” It takes crap like the Microsoft mission statement above and distills it down to its essence - we want to sell a lot of software and make a ton of money. Let’s look at another example:

How about Wal-Mart’s “To give ordinary folk the chance to buy the same thing as rich people.”? What a load of crap! If passed through the reality filter, it would read something like: “To sell cheap Chinese crap and garner a monopoly on the ‘cheap garbage’ market in the US, while strangling the rest of the US economy because we know people care more about overspending their income than in keeping their community’s small businesses intact.” Now that approaches something like the real-world effect of Wal-Mart.

But in reality, what do these high tone mission statements do? Nothing. So when you’re looking at your company’s mission statement, or the mission statement of any place you happen to find yourself, remember B’nai Elim and interpret it correctly.

And for the record, we wholeheartedly support the goals of B’nai Elim, and wish our own country could get off its political ass and work with the same diligence as Israel and groups such as B’nai Elim work to eradicate our enemies. We’ll be talking more about B’nai Elim, Israel vs. its enemies, and other related topics soon.

Poor Richard’s Blog will soon be open!

Posted by William Kapeles on October 7, 2007

I was reading a site the other day and came across a Benjamin Franklin quote.  After reading it I realized that many of Franklin’s notable quips could be bylaws of conservative living.  I decided that more people needed to know about this so I started Poor Richard’s blog - a blog dedicated to the great forefather of our country, and maybe conservatism.  Check it out at Poor Richard’s Blog.

2 Patriot Act Provisions ruled unlawful - USATODAY.com

2 Patriot Act Provisions ruled unlawful - USATODAY.com

The protections of our Constitution should be, above all, preserved for all American citizens.  Thus, the declaration of unconstitutionality of a part of this law is appropriate, even if it was done by a liberal hand-wringing judge for all the wrong reasons.  It is, however, undisputed that we need some methods to fight the terrorists who try to operate on our soil as well as protections, as citizens, from our government.  How do we strike that fine line between aggressive, proactive anti-terror law enforcement activities and overzealous, unconstitutional interference into our lives?  Must we give up some freedoms in order to maintain security?  Liberals definitely believe that we should when it comes to the 2nd amendment, but not when their protections against illegal search and seizure are concerned.

In the above cited case of the Patriot Act provisions, the ACLU is spearheading the fight against the government to have a lot of the law declared unconstitutional and void.  This is to safeguard the protections we have under the 1st, 4th, and 5th amendments.  This is one of the ACLU’s only actions I support (for a completely different reason than you would think).  Why do these same liberal hand-wringers , who want to “keep government out of my life when I’m on trial” want to do away with the 2nd Amendment, the very protection that guarantees a citizen’s right to fight the government?  Is it not as important as the other 9 in the Bill of Rights?  Does it not provide protection for us from the government just as the 4th amendment protects us from the government being able to search our homes unlawfully?  In fact, it is the most important of the first 10 amendments, as it provides the citizenry the sword to fight governmental tyranny.

We cannot pick and choose which freedoms are “good” and thus worthy of maintaining, and which are “bad” and should be given away for the sake of [imagined] security within our own borders.  I think it’s instructive to use a quote from one of our founding fathers that illustrates the conundrum liberals constantly try to put the rest of Americans in:  “Anyone who trades liberty for security deserves neither liberty nor security” - Benjamin Franklin.  In giving away the freedoms that Franklin and the other founding fathers fought and died for, as well as all the other Americans who fought and died for our freedoms over the years, is to betray the eternal trust those brave souls put in the future of this country.

We cannot give our freedoms away in the search for security for our great country.  We must take the fight to our enemies and kill them, as they would kill us.  Any other solution to this problem of religion-based attacks (i.e.: terror) is impossible, as has been demonstrated for 2000+ years.   There can be no appeasement of our enemies, no “treaties” with theological warriors, no compromise with the defeatists and cowards who want us to abandon our fight against global terror.  If we back down one iota, we betray the millions who have died to protect and preserve this country for us.  To betray them is to betray our children, and future generations of our lines, by giving away the birthright we have all enjoyed.

It must be reiterated, that the finding of the Portland court striking down certain provisions of the Patriot Act is a GOOD thing.  The government’s unreasonable use of search and seizure has been successfully thwarted.  So let’s not do away with our ability to fight the government at all by giving away our right to keep and bear arms.  Is the logic of the fallacy of the anti-gunners not obvious?  You cannot gain security by giving up freedom.  It is an immutable truth.

Fight the good fight - protect ALL your rights!

The Fairness Doctrine & Liberals vs. The Free Market

Posted by William Kapeles on October 4, 2007

“To read a newspaper is to refrain from reading something worthwhile. The first discipline of education must therefore be to refuse resolutely to feed the mind with canned chatter.”
- Aleister Crowley (1875 - 1947)

Much has been said about the media and its inherent liberal bias.  What speaks volumes about how the media in this country has devolved from a voice of the people and governmental watchdog to its current low state is the proposed Fairness Doctrine.  Via a blatant governmental interference in the free market, certain whiny, liberal members of Congress are attempting to keep their poisonous “progressive” dogma in the public’s face when the public has voiced (via it’s economic lack of support) its desire to not hear it.

Everything in this country is ruled by market forces.  If people want something, they will pay for it.  If they do not want a particular media outlet, market forces will slowly cause it to die off.   This is the reason there are so few liberal talk-shows on radio.  The ones that do exist do not enjoy anything near the popularity of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Michael Reagan.  It’s capitalism at its best.  To combat this overwhelming conservative monopoly on the airwaves, Democrats in Congress want to impose an artificial control on our free market by forcing media outlets to give equal time to liberal media programs.

In the national media, Fox News has decided to capitalize on the public’s desire to not be bombarded with liberal garbage.  They have enjoyed so much success that the Democratic Presidential candidates have refused to attend debates hosted on Fox News.   “Fair and Balanced” has become the perfect slogan for a true media outlet as intended by the framers of the Constitution - a political slant is not proper in the reporting of facts.  The litmus test for Fox News’ integrity is their willingness to report news that is damaging to the conservative viewpoint.  They do it.  Check the archives if you doubt this.  The same cannot be said for CNN, MSNBC, or any other national media icon reporting damaging news about liberals with the same vehemence as they do conservatives.

The above being said, why is it that Democrats in Congress wish to force our “free” media outlets to give as much time to liberal programs as they give to conservative ones?  The answer is in the operative word in the previous sentence - “GIVE.”  These media companies do not GIVE anything to anyone.  They sell valuable time on their broadcast networks to those programs that attract and hold an audience - an audience that advertisers want to reach.  Companies then purchase ads on these networks to sell their products.  If the whole circle was not profitable for everyone involved, it would remove itself from the market - just like so many liberally inclined media programs have done already.   The imposition of a governmentally mandated Fairness Doctrine would interfere in this system.  Giving away valuable broadcast time will cause companies to fail and further reinforce the fallacy of liberal policies in general.

It’s important to remember that liberalism is based on wanting to feel good about yourself - regardless of the consequences.  Forcing the Fairness Doctrine into law may make many liberals feel good to know that their “message” is being sent out along with the conservative message.  Unfortunately, the forced inclusion of the liberal “message” will cause economic havoc for the companies that are forced to air it.  They will lose money and eventually close.

This market-driven effect is present in every aspect of American life.  It cannot be avoided by ANY governmental law.  Government interference in the free market is tantamount to an attempt to change the fundamental ways in which Americans engage in commerce.  Tell your elected leaders to keep their paws off yet another of your freedoms - keep the media unregulated by government.  Let the market provide all the regulation it needs.   Let the liberals earn their keep.  I realize that’s an economic impossibility, but they are permitted to the right to pursue happiness just like the rest of us.

Is Rush Limbaugh Running for Office? Or are the Democrats Just Insane?

Posted by William Kapeles on October 3, 2007

Everyone who pays attention to the political scene in this country knows about the ongoing battle between the liberals and Rush Limbaugh over some comments Limbaugh made about “phony soldiers.”  It is obvious to anyone who will examine the evidence that Limbaugh’s comments were, in fact, taken out of context and used to hype a news story.  Once the ball started rolling, Media Matters really spearheaded an attack on Limbaugh, culminating in a Democrat led call for a Senate condemnation of a private citizen (Limbaugh).

What strikes me as most disturbing in this whole situation is that the Democrats in the Senate have nothing better to do than condemn a citizen for speaking his mind.  It is irrelevant what Limbaugh meant by his words.  I personally believe Limbaugh’s explanation for the comments, but that, too, is irrelevant.  He, as a citizen of this country, can say whatever he wants.  Just as I sit here at my computer and type my opinions, he sits at his golden EIB microphone and proclaims his opinions.  The government has no fundamental interest in what he says or does anymore than the government should have an interest in the contents of my blog.

Exactly what is driving the “war” between the Democrats in the Senate, Media Matters, and Limbaugh?  If you look at Media Matters’ website, almost the entire first page is devoted to denouncing Limbaugh and refuting all that Limbaugh has said about the whole “phony soldiers” controversy.  The only message they are proclaiming is a “he said this…but he’s lying….here’s the truth” type of grade school taunt.  The Democrats in the Senate are using your tax dollars to bemoan Limbaugh, and he has broken no law that would require a Senate inquiry.  So what, exactly, is driving this fiasco?

It seems logical to me that the amount of attention the Democrats and their minions are heaping on Limbaugh can only be the result of some deep seated fear of what effect he may have on the upcoming elections.  They are attacking him like he is a huge threat to their power base.  Otherwise, why go after him?  He’s not running for office, so he cannot be a valid target for a national smear….er…..discrediting campaign.

If you believe the Democrat’s explanation of “Limbaugh has gone too far and he must be made to atone for his sin” then you, as a fair minded human, should immediately call for EVERY person in America to be called in front of the Senate for a condemnation for unkind remarks they have made.  What the Senate is trying to do to Limbaugh is nothing more than censorship of his right to speak his mind.  If here’s first on their list, how long until they get to you?

If you take the time to look at the evidence (on both sides of the issue) you will see that Limbaugh is being torpedoed.  Do your research and discover for yourself that the Democrats are lying through their teeth, as usual.  You can find enough relevant info at both mediamatters.org and rushlimbaugh.com.  When you hear them whining with fake emotion, calling for this and that because of the offensive whatever, and so on, remember that they’re as full of crap on this issue as they are on any of their core “beliefs.”  Take solace in their fear of Limbaugh.  If they’re spending gobs of money going after someone who is not running for office, think of how they must view their chances of winning with Hillary!  Then, write your Senators and Representatives and tell them to cut the crap and get down to business.
