The Pending Launch of Ammodata.com
Posted by William Kapeles on August 16, 2007
Friends, I detest having to pay for information that should be free. The people at a popular firearms magazine have started a website dedicated to reloading. It incorporates reloading data, shopping, articles, etc. It’s the bee’s knees. Unfortunately, it costs the end user $30.00 per year to get the info!
My question is this: Why charge for something so universally available anyway?
The only solution is for us to launch a free version of the same data. We will even have shopping available - though not to the same degree as the pay-site competition. We are calling our site: ammodata.com.
We are seeking input from the reloaders among you. What would you like an online reloading manual to give you? How much detail and frills do you need out of a free site? Is just the basic sizes, loads, and speeds enough data, or do you also need a cute graphic showing you the same thing the numbers tell you?
Give us some feedback here as to how you want it. It’s going to be a site for shooters - not frill-seekers. If you have any comments you would like to keep private, just say so in the comment and we won’t allow them to be “public.”
Thanks for your help!
